Here we’ll detail the steps on applying RockTape Kinesiology Tape to the lower back. Using an H pattern is a simple and effective way to reduce pain and inflammation in the area. Start with our standard 2 inch tape and measure from the belt line up to mid-back. Cut two strips of this length. Measure a third strip from one hip to the other across the low back. Round the tape’s ends to avoid catching on gear or clothing. Stretch the skin by bending at the hips, using a sturdy surface for support. With the first strip, tear an end then anchor at the belt line on either side of the spine. The strip should point up. Pull away the release paper, applying straight up. Repeat previous step for the second strip, applying on the opposite side of the spine, parallel to the first strip. Tear the center of the third strip to expose the adhesive. Then, with slight stretch, apply to the painful area perpendicular to the previous strips. Lay down the ends with no stretch, then rub to activate the adhesive. Using 4 inch wide tape as the horizontal strip is optional. Thanks for watching! Check out our other videos for more movement and taping tutorials to help you go stronger, longer.
